Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. Announces New Imaging Solution Monett, MO -- March 29, 2001. Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ:JKHY) today announced the release of a new generation item imaging solution, 4|sight™ at their Spring National User Group Meeting in Nashville, TN.

"Beyond all the hi-tech bells and whistles, 4|sight isn't just about item imaging", states Mark Forbis, Imaging Solution Manager at JKHY. "It's about providing superior services to bank customers through technology and leveraging your investment through complete system integration."

4|sight features several technology breakthroughs based upon the industry's first true three-tier architecture. 4|sight separates the business application logic from the database and moves the database to a more powerful data base server environment. Furthermore, 4|sight moves the business logic from the client tier to a middle-tier application server relieving the client tier from major processing duties, allowing them to run leaner and meaner with smaller less expensive personal computers or thin-clients.

"Jack Henry & Associates has a strong and proven track record with check image delivery, implementation and support. With 4|sight we've combined today's technology advancements with the best attributes of our past success to create the next generation of imaging solutions," said Steve Tomson, General Manager of Complementary Solutions.

Automated item imaging allows banks to offer better customer service while improving their productivity, the quality of their product, and at the same time realizing processing cost savings and new revenue opportunities. Better customer service is attained in the form of immediate access to check images and delivering those images to their customers on demand or via CD-Rom, Internet, automatic fax-back, image statements, etc. Productivity improvements and cost savings are realized by enhanced internal research, improved availability to the data, as well as reduction in labor, microfilm, sorter, fraud and postage costs. Additional revenue can be generated by the bank via increased fee income for the new services, (CD-Rom, Cash Management with image, etc.), and targeted marketing via data mining.

4|sight 's architecture allows operating system, database and transport independence. Today, it may be deployed with either of the most common operating environments, (NT or as a host/server with the IBM AS/400Ò), yet can be easily adapted for other environments. 4|sight's innovations allow financial managers to distribute their processing across multiple databases, physical locations, operating systems, transport platforms, host servers or any combination of the five. For most institutions, this flexibility protects the technology investments already in place by building upon existing systems.

"Community financial institutions compete by delivering quality, personal service to their customers. 4|sight is a perfect example of how our company can provide an integrated software solution that helps them do just that," stated Michael E. Henry, Chairman and CEO.

4|sight features tight integration with all of JKHY's currently marketed core processing solutions, CIF 20/20™, SilverLake™, Core Director™ and legacy core processing solutions, Liberty™, Peerless 21™, Banker II™ , Banker E™ and ACCESS™.

4|sight will continue beta testing in a variety of JKHY customer environments through the rest of 2001 with general availability in January, 2002.
